Remember when air travel used to be fun?

We just got back tonight from our trip to Vegas. All was great except the air travel. I officially hate any air travel that is not a direct flight. You know, the show up at the airport, check your bags, wait an hour, get on your flight, fly to your destination, get off the plane, claim your bags and you are off for some exciting, adventure filled days ahead. Thanks to my late booking of this trip, we had to connect in Denver out of Wichita to get to Vegas. Our Wichita to Vegas flight was on time. It just went downhill from there. We were delayed nearly two hours in Denver. We got to our hotel at 1:30 a.m. VEGAS TIME! I was so tired, my eye lids hurt. Today we were delayed 2 hours on our Las Vegas to Denver flight. This meant it was impossible to make our connection in Denver. Thanks to DH insisting we get to the airport really early, we got on standby for an earlier flight, in which we were two of the three of the ten standby passengers or so to get on this plane. "Thank you Lord!". Guess what, our Denver to Wichita plane was delayed 30 minutes. I got really tired of looking at the departure boards with "On Time" listed for every flight but ours! OK, lesson learned. Plan and book trips earlier, and get direct flights! I am really tired tonight, so I will write of the better aspects of our trip tomorrow, with pics. I just needed to vent.

Alot of people ask about our garden railroad. He it is. It is actually quite a bit more mature than what you see here. This was July 4, 2006.
