Old dog, new issues.

After the post walk issues yesterday, I decided to take Kida in for a check. She was due one of her shots anyway, but we needed to have this checked out. It turns out, she is hypothyroid. The normal range is 1.1 to 4.o. She registered at 1.1, which may be as high as she ever gets. Our vet said he always puts dogs under 2.0 on a medication. She has also gained 8 pounds since February. We had noticed that she was getting pretty stout, but not that stout! We also need to put her on special food for 2 months to help get the weight off so she can function more normally. With the medication and food, she should lose the weight pretty quickly and see a boost in energy. It's a pretty easy fix, but its good to know we can treat this and it isn't anything really serious.
