After church activities tonight, some of the kids were throwing around a football in the parking lot. My daughter was tossed the ball and promptly threw it to another boy. I remarked that she "throws like a girl" teasing her just a bit. "I am a girl!" she replied. One of the middle school boys gleefully tossed me the ball and asked if I could do it better. I smirked, then had one of the fathers back up to about the 60 foot mark and I heaved a nice high velocity spiral John Elway would be proud of. "Holy Crap!' remarked one of the boys apparently forgetting we were at church. Where'd you learn to do that? My husband then laughed and said, "You ought to see what she can do with a softball!" It was fun to know I've still got it. I spent so many years playing softball as a kid and young adult, and was actually quite good. It was my sport, and I threw everything into it from a very young age. Although I don't play anymore, it's nice to know I probably could if I wanted too, and maybe, just maybe I could turn a few heads.
On the road again....
