It's T minus 46 days until we head out on our first "real" vacation in over 2 years. We are doing something totally new this time. We are going on a cruise! I stopped in a travel agency in January just to inquire and by the end of the day, we were booked. I still can't believe my husband went with it. We have spent alot of time back east on our last couple of vacations. We toured Civil War and Revolutionary War sites, the U.S. Captitol, Ford's Theatre, Arlington National Cemetary, Independence Hall, Hershey, PA, Amish Country in PA, not to mention the sites and sounds of Nashville, Chattanooga and the deep south. We were going to go out the Northern California and see Yosemite and the Redwoods, but both kids begged us not to take them anywhere where they have to "learn something"! We always come back from vacation elated, but exhausted. My husband agreed that we need a vacation for just the sake of it, cruise it is. We're going to the Bahamas, Key West, and we'll have a couple of days in Miami. We'll be staying at a timeshare on the Doral Golf course in Miami. I can't wait for that. I just want to take a golf cart out and see the course I just watched Tiger sink that incredible final putt a month or so ago. We'll see. BTW, do you really think we can go on a vacation without doing something educational? Try Everglades National Park and the Mel Fisher Maritime museum. I still think they'll have a blast!
