Something's Gotta Give!

Every few months I find that I get somewhat overwhelmed with EVERYTHING! Today must be one of those days. It just seems like I am saddled with 90% of the responsibilities of this family. A run down:

I do 90% of the transportation for practices, dance classes, and boy scouts. Not to mention picking everyone up at school everyday.

I coach K's volleyball, allbeit asst. coach.

I attend all parent/teacher conferences and meetings.

I do 90% of the grocery shopping.

I help K & E with their homework and I read with E probably 75% of the time.

I keep the home somewhat tidy and clean.

I have been mowing the lawn and doing the yardwork since S's allergies are really bad this year.

I cook 75% of the evening meals.

I do all of the laundry.

I work with my sister to try to arrange transportation and attend my mother and grandmother's doctor's appt's.

We are now in the middle of fundraisers for both Boy Scouts and E's school which means some door to door selling. (Guess who's going to do this!)

Oh, and I work 3/4 time.

I am taking tomorrow off, just so I can get caught up. We are leaving town tomorrow afternoon, and if I work nothing will get packed for this weekend, the lawn won't get mowed, the van won't get cleaned, checked and gased up, and the piles of laundry won't get hung up and put away.

I know S is busy and he is pretty stressed at work right now. I came down pretty hard on him this morning telling him I need help. As bad as I feel about this, "Something's Gotta Give!". I know, everyone says some of these activities and so on need to be taken out, but these are only Fall seasonal. They will be over soon. In the mean time, please help!

Add on to this post: 9:00 a.m.

I just arrived at work after an unplanned meeting with S at Mocha's where we both destined for our morning coffee. We had a nice talk. He is going to try to do more, but he admits at 47 he is starting to slow down and needs some time to decompress in the evenings. I can sympathize, that's why I try to hammer these things out right after school with the kids I told him, so things aren't so chaotic when he gets home. He says he will pick up E after dance tonight and read with him. Thank you honey. Every little bit helps.

Alot of people ask about our garden railroad. He it is. It is actually quite a bit more mature than what you see here. This was July 4, 2006.
