I Go Back...!

With all of the stuff going on at our house these days, I have decided it would be therapeutic to go back to less complicated days in my life. A run down of this stuff includes:
1. Being one of my daughters Volleyball coaches this fall.
2. Our son playing Flag Football.
3. Both kids dance classes amounts to a 3 night a week commitment.
4. School adjustments continue for both kids.
5. My going back to work, or at least trying when I am not taking days off to take care of "damage to property" issues at our house, and dealing with family medical emergencies.
6. My Grandmother in the hospital after collapsing again.
7. My mother's ongoing medical issues continue to be relentless and dramatic.
8. My father's weekly maintenance chemo.
9. Trying to keep the house up, so it doesn't fall behind on cleaning and maintenance issues.
10. My husbands work, and the irritations that go on with that.
11. Boy scouts weekly for our son.

I love the Kenny Chesney song, "I Go Back". It talks about going back to your childhood and how simple and relatively stress free it was. Right now I am going back, by watching episodes of one of my favorite shows from my childhood, "Hart to Hart". Remember how Robert Wagner and Stephanie Powers' characters were always solving crimes and enjoying their blessed life and happy marriage all the while? I love their butler Max, and dog Freeway. I thought Robert Wagner was so debonair when I was a pre-teen watching this show. As I "go back" I now realize he was probably my first "crush". As I think, I also realize he is probably one of the reasons I have always been more attracted to older men. He was totally devoted, passionate, and respectful to his wife on the show. I so wanted that marriage some day. Thinking about my life now, I kinda have it. I adore my nearly 11 years older husband, and he has that debonaire class about him that is often missing in men today. He actually likes to dress up, go the the theatre, attend a symphony, go to an art gallery and support our kids in their pursuit of finer things including the arts. He is devoted to me, our children, and our life. So, in closing, in these uncertain times, it's kinda nice to "go back" as it makes you realize how good we really have it.

Alot of people ask about our garden railroad. He it is. It is actually quite a bit more mature than what you see here. This was July 4, 2006.
