Our Little Man

Last week, E came home with a Psalm and responses from school, as he was selected to read part of the Psalm at Mass today. He didn't really say much about it, but that he "Had to read at church". Yesterday, he had a practice at the church and was told where to stand, bow, and so on. We read through his reading several times last night and also this morning. He was ready! Since it must be a slow sub-teaching day, I had the opportunity to go to Mass. I watched him read and I teared up. The lady next to me said, "that's your son, isn't he?" "Yes, he is." I responded. "He did great!" she said. Yes he did. He walked up to the altar, bowed very reverently, stood next to the altar as the other boy read first and then took his place to read, in front of the K-3 grade classes and another 50 plus parishioners. Our little man is growing up. In just the month and a half he has been at this school, he has gone from reading picture type books to having just finished his second Magic Treehouse Chapter book. It continues to become more and more apparant that this school and our son are a perfect fit.
