The making of a star athlete?

When I married and we decided to have children, I always envisioned someday coaching or watching my kids play softball or baseball. Softball was my passion, and I hoped at least one of my kids would find that passion. It wasn't meant to be. My daughters passion is volleyball. She attended the Heart of America Volleyball camp this week, which is one of the premier camps in the midwest. Girls come from all over the midwestern United States to attend and learn at this camp. After 5 days of daily drills and 7 hours daily on the court, she came out of this camp one of the 12 All Stars and winner of 4 addtional awards. Her awards are as follows:

1. League Speed Agility Run Champion
2. League Best Server
3. League Overhead Pass Champion
4. League Forearm Pass Champion
All of the girls got at least one award, but she was only one of 3 girls of 35 winning 4 or more awards. If it sounds like I'm bragging, I guess I am. She worked really hard and did really well. We couldn't be more proud. It's way to early, but she has aspirations of playing at the high school varsity level and maybe even college. We will continue to support her sports passion, no matter how far it takes her.

Upper Right-Naming of the Camp All-Star team, our daughter is far right.
Bottom Left-A scene from the All-Star exhibition game. She is in black shorts having just set the ball.
Bottom Right-She is on the bottom team, and just bumped the ball into the air. Another All-Star game pic.

Alot of people ask about our garden railroad. He it is. It is actually quite a bit more mature than what you see here. This was July 4, 2006.
