Three weeks and closing for our son and just over two weeks for our daughter before they head back to school. This is a year of transition. Our daughter will be leaving the ranks of elementary school for middle school. Our son is moving from public school to private school, and this is a pretty major change for him. All summer long he has been going to a transition tutor at the school in preparation for the different curriculum. He has done well, and we hope this teacher will be his teacher this fall. We will also be heading to Wichita on Friday to purchase his first set of uniforms. Last week, as a result from a friends recommendation, we met with another St. Mary's parent who also runs a daycare. We are going to tag team with transportation. We will take him to her every morning for breakfast and she will take him to school everyday and I will pick our son and her kids up every day after school. We are all thrilled with the arrangement. Our son asks nearly everyday when school starts. He is really excited and seems much more at ease and confident with his new school. Our daughter seems more excited about having a locker and moving between classes than school itself. She will get a reality check soon enough when she comes home with homework every night and starts algebra! In the mean time, we have a few more weeks of fun in the sun and or in the A/C.
