Re-charging our batteries

In this day and age when all of the kids' toys and games seem to take battteries that either have to be replaced regularly or re-charged, I have never thought that we need to be re-charged too. I was visiting with my son this morning sitting in our Chiropractors office where I have regular de-tox treatments and I asked him how he slept last night. He, and this is a direct quote, responded "Good, I think my batteries in my brain and body are recharged". I just chuckled and he went on to explain that we recharge our brain and body every night when we sleep so we can get up and play and take on the day's activities the next day. As I thought about this, I guess he is right. At the "Bodies Revealed" exhibit we saw on Saturday in Kansas City we saw how all of the bodies systems are connected and how the heart, brain, lungs, kidneys, muscles, circulatory system, and so on work together so we can function, but we also need to rest and recharge everyday. My son was especially fascinated by the muscles and tendons. He kept putting his arm or leg next to the displays trying to picture what is inside under his skin. What really threw me was the fact that he could identify all of the thorasic organs with near perfection. "We did this in Science class Mom!" Ok, as much as I am down on public schools nowadays, I guess he did learn something!
