Ouch! We're not kids any more!

Yesterday we jumped on the video gaming bandwagon and received our new Nintendo Wii on the FedEx truck. This is technically for our daughter's birthday two weeks away, but she has other gifts so we gave it early so we could get it set up and ready for her Wii Birthday party. We of course all had to try it out. If you aren't familiar with the Wii, this isn't just some sit on the couch and play a video game. You actually get up and play tennis, baseball, bowling, boxing, golf, etc. Our son is now the Strike King at bowling raking up 8 strikes in one game of bowling, and our daughter has mastered an incredible tennis serve. You break a sweat! When my husband and I got up this morning we both grimaced in pain as we realized our rights arms from the forearm to the shoulder are very, very, sore! I remember this same pain from playing weekend long softball tournaments as a kid. I haven't felt this is quite some time. His response, "You get what you wish for!" My wish was for an interactive video game that got the kids and us off the couch. Something realistic and physically demanding. We promised ourselves years ago that we wouldn't enable our kids to become couch potato video game junkies. Well, Nintendo heard our wish and now we have the Wii. Later this morning I am going to go snowskiing at the "Happy Skii Resort"! Yippee!

Alot of people ask about our garden railroad. He it is. It is actually quite a bit more mature than what you see here. This was July 4, 2006.
