Extreme Build in Chapman!

Yesterday, the Extreme Makeover Home Edition cast arrived in Chapman, Kansas to begin rebuilding a home, community center, and park in Tornado ravaged Chapman. Chapman is about 40 minutes due east of Salina. If those of you who follow my blog recall, Chapman, Salina, and several other areas were hit by a 3 system storm on June 11. K was at church camp only 15 minutes away from Chapman which was hit by a category F3-4 tornado. This was one of the longest nights of our life as we sat at home praying we wouldn't get hit and praying K was OK. Five months later, Ty, Paige, Ed, and Michael are in Chapman building a home for a military family. The father is due for a medical discharge after being shot by an Iraqi sniper in the neck a year ago. We are planning to go to the site maybe tomorrow and Saturday. One of my friends from church is on a framing crew tomorrow. This is so exciting for this family and Chapman. This will be a two hour special airing sometime after the first of the year to nearly a billion viewers world wide.

Alot of people ask about our garden railroad. He it is. It is actually quite a bit more mature than what you see here. This was July 4, 2006.
