Star Trek FAN, the Next Generation

This past weekend, the new "Star Trek" movie opened. We have been anticipating this movie for over a year now. As just about all of you 2 or 3 people who read this blog know, my husband has been a Star Trek fan since he was a kid. He even had a pretty impressive Star Trek memorabilia collection and has attended and met many of the original stars as well as some from "The Next Generation" series. A family side effect of this new movie is the birth of a new "Trekkie" in our son! He is obsessed. While in Manhattan today, Steve picked up the remastered season 1 and 2 of the original series on DVD. As we speak, the boys are watching the episode, "The Doomsday Machine". Eric is totally in to this show. "Just shoot the phaser into the fire hole", Eric exclaims jumping up and down in front of the TV. "Did it blow up? Is it dead?" he just asked as Kirk and company just saved the universe once again. We got to see the new movie twice this weekend. I'm sure we will see it more than that, and you can be assured we will be there to buy the DVD the day it is released. We are now a "Star Trek" family, once again!

Alot of people ask about our garden railroad. He it is. It is actually quite a bit more mature than what you see here. This was July 4, 2006.
