Alaska was AWESOME!

We got back on Monday from our trip to Alaska. It was the most amazing 7 days in my life. I'm pretty sure Steve and the kids would say the same. We had amazing weather. It didn't rain once. The temperature hovered from the mid 40's to the mid 70's. We saw some amazing wildlife include two black bears, lots of orca whales, a couple of humpback whales, and some eagles. We even saw some strange looking squirrels in Ketchikan. Over the 7 days we visited Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Tracy Arm fjord, and Victoria British Columbia. Probably the most incredible part was cruising into Tracy Arm. This is a narrow fjord that ends at Sawyer Glacier. We saw lots of pristine blue glacier ice and even some calving harbor seals. All in all, for the few folks who read this blog, I highly recommend an Alaskan cruise. This part of our amazing country is to behold. I would really encourage you to consider this May shoulder season. The ports aren't as busy, the mosquitoes haven't come out, and it isn't as rainy. Give Alaska a look!

Alot of people ask about our garden railroad. He it is. It is actually quite a bit more mature than what you see here. This was July 4, 2006.
