A prayer for Bailey.

We found out today that my husband's sister had to put their beloved Pickapoo dog "Bailey" down yesterday. She was such a blessing to their family for the last 15 plus years. She will be missed.

Oh Lord our God, we come before You today in sadness. Bailey, who brought us so much joy in life, has now died. Her happy times in our family's embrace has come to an end. We miss Bailey already.

Help us, oh God, to remember the good times with Bailey. Remind us to rejoice in the happy times she brought to our homes. Let us be thankful for the blessed life we were able to give her.

We are grateful to You, Oh God, for creating Bailey, for entrusting her care to us, and for sustaining her in our love for a measure of time. We understand that all that lives, must die. We knew this day would come, and yet we would have given all for one more day of play, one more walk, one more jump into our lap.

Oh God, as we have taken care of Bailey in life, we now ask for you to watch over her in death. You entrusted Bailey to our care, we now give her back to You. May Bailey find happiness in Your loving embrace.

As we remember Bailey, may we love each other more dearly. May we care for all of Your creatures, for every living thing, as we protected the blessed life of Bailey. May Bailey's memory bless our lives with love and caring forever.

Amen

Alot of people ask about our garden railroad. He it is. It is actually quite a bit more mature than what you see here. This was July 4, 2006.
