The Moment of Truth

Something has become really apparent to me recently, my daughter is as tall if not slightly taller than me now. Laugh all you want, but this is a bit disturbing to me. I knew that our children would be taller than me "someday", but at 11?!? Our doctor has told me for years that she will probably make 5' 9" to 5' 11" or so. I figured that would happen around 16 or 17, which it still might, but I think this kid is growing a measurable amount every day! Tonight she walked in and I realized that I was looking up at her. Granted, she had shoes on and I was in socks, but still! People who haven't seen her for awhile all comment on how tall she is getting, and that's great. She is a volleyball player after all, and every inch matters. OK, for reference sake, I am 5' 4", or slightly under. I guess I have shrunk a little. I guess we will sit back and see where it stops, but I don't think it's going to any time soon.
