Today I went to Wichita with my husband and son since S was booked to give a seminar at a garden railroad event. I took this as an opportunity to take E to a showroom we'd been wanting to visit for awhile now, the Big Dog Motorcycle showroom. Lately, we have gotten in to watching "American Chopper" on TLC nearly every night since we Tivo eps every time they are on. If you aren't familiar with this show, the OCC guys build a custom chopper for corporate customers in every episode. We get to see the bike built from CAD design, to fabrication, paint and powdercoat, to assembly. All the while, we watch the drama as Paul Sr., Paul Jr. and the guys disagree and fight over how the bike is being assemble. Great family drama! (sarcasm there!). These Big Dog Choppers are very similar machines. I WANT ONE! Am I going to get one, probably not. Maybe in 10 years or so, but the one I want is $24,000. I have never driven a motorcycle, but have always been fascinated by the whole idea and the culture of them. One of these days, maybe I'll learn how to drive one and get a starter bike to putter around town on. Who know, 10 years down the road, I might graduate to a Big Dog. I like the idea of a Big Dog, mainly because they are built in Wichita. Keep it local.
On the road again....
