As I was packing to leave for a 4 day trip to Denver today, I had the TV on. At 2:00 I turned over to ABC to watch my one really corny pleasure, "General Hospital", only to find the "Michael Jackson memorial service" STILL ON! This thing started at 11:00 according to my channel guide. It didn't end until almost 3:00! That's 4 HOURS folks! We have men and women fighting world wide and dying for our freedom and we take up 4 hours of every major network to memorialize a man, and I use that word loosely, who was most likely a sexual predator. Ok, I admit, he did manage to spear head a few humanitarian efforts, but for the most part, he was a freak. I flipped back at one point to see some U.S. Congresswoman hold up a piece of legislation that would go through our United States House of Representatives declaring him some kind of American Icon or something. Like our Congresspeople have nothing better to do! Let's move on please, he led a reckless life and in the end died as a result of this life and the dependence of drugs. I am actually very proud of Elizabeth Taylor when she released a statement today saying she was not going to be a part of any kind of public farce the Jackson family put together. Now that's class!
