I'm not gonna take it!

Today I got a certificate in the mail from Marriott I had been waiting for since our stay in Denver last month. We stayed in Denver during a promotion which would work as a gift certificate for dollars off a future night stay. I opened the envelope and started reading all of the conditions. Needless to say, our upcoming stays at a Springhill Suites in Seattle don't qualify which is what we really wanted to used this for. I decided for once, not to take it! I'm going to actually call up and get some sort of retribution. After talking to two different persons, I ultimately ended up getting enough points added on to our account to qualify us for a completely free night! I was very nice, and in some cases apologetic to the reps I talked too. I honestly think that got me what it did. I could have been a jerk about it, but I really don't think it would have gotten me anywhere. We aren't getting a free night in Seattle, but we are getting a free night in Lawrence the weekend my cousin gets married next month. This ends up in our favor nearly $150.00 over the original bonus coupon. The squeaky wheel gets the oil I guess!
