Yesterday was a big day for our son. For the past several weeks, he has been meeting weekly with a pastor friend of ours undergoing instruction for the "God and Me" award. This is the first of 4 Religious awards that Boy Scouts can earn. This award requires national registration with Boy Scouts of America and must be instructed and supervised by an ordained minister of the church. Our pastor friend happens to be the chaplain of Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas. This is the college my husband graduated from many years ago. Noni is a wonderful pastor and friend. She happily nurtured E in his studies and told us multiple times how impressed she is with his insightfulness and wisdom. She told us that he has demonstrated a faith maturity beyond his 8 years, and sees that he has the potential to become a spiritual leader in not only his own life, but in the lives of others. We aren't quite sure where this will lead him, but we will roll with it and see what the Lord decides to do with his life.
