This week has been absolutely crazy in terms of the weather. Early in the week, we were dealing with massive sustained winds of 40 to 60 miles per hour that snapped power lines, ripped shingle off roofs, and shattered windows with debris. Luckily, our house and vehicles were spared damage, but a power pole snapped and landed on my Grandmothers south fence. My Grandmother and parents houses were without power and we hosted my Grandmother for a night and my sister had my parents. Last night into today, we are dealing with a freak Spring snow storm that is dumping anywhere from 3 inches to 15 inches of snow on Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Texas. It's almost April for petes sake! I have talked to a reservations rep in Alaska twice in the last two days, (booking our train ride for vacation) and she has asked how were are doing. "I bet you're used to this!" I told her. "Yea, but I've never seen this happen in your neck of the woods!" she said. Apparantly, she is a Weather.com junkie like I am. By the middle of next week, it's supposed to be back into the 60's. We'll probably be wearing shorts again. I have heard more than once, people say, "If you don't like the weather in Kansas, wait a minute, it'll change!" That is so true sometimes!
