A Crazy Week!

This week has been absolutely insane! Last Saturday, we had K at the emergency room after she collapsed at volleyball practice. It turns out she for sure has bronchitis and some kind of virus running rampant through her body. She has no energy, headaches, constant cough which by this writing seems to be getting better, and overall lethargy. This is a kid who is rarely sick. I can count on 1 hand the number of days she has missed from school in 5 years. I actually insisted on a note from our doctor so he absences don't count against her for state truancy laws since she has missed 3 days of school. It seems she is better today, has completed most of her homework, and will head back to school tomorrow. In the meantime, I have been assisting a Chemistry teacher at the high school as she is now moving from room to room to teach since the chemicals that are stored in her room are making her sick. She told the previous principal about this problem in years past and he did nothing. The new principal immediately acted, closed off the room, and insisted that a ventilation system be put in to ventilate the fumes from the acids and chemicals so no one gets sick. So, we get to move all of her supplies, laptop, projector, and lab materials on two carts from room to room and co-teach. Friday she will be gone all day at doctors appointements and I will be on my own. In the mean time, E is now off school tomorrow and Friday and he will stay with my mother, while I take a break tomorrow to go to his parent/teacher conferences. Are you tired yet? I sure am. I think I'll go lie down now.

Alot of people ask about our garden railroad. He it is. It is actually quite a bit more mature than what you see here. This was July 4, 2006.
