Lately, I have been making several observations of my life and the lives of those closest to me. He are some things I've noticed, and some things to be grateful for in these uncertain times.
The bad:
1. I really don't like it when I'm not working. On the rare occasion when I don't have a sub job, I go stir crazy.
2. I don't have the patience I would like with the kids and the condition of our home. "JUST PICK IT UP ALREADY!"
3. I don't like being sick. The two days I was down last week were awful.
4. My son thinks he is a auditory special effects expert and it drives me crazy sometimes.
5. I'm not handling having a pre-teen well. Pray I figure this out before it's too late.
6. I don't like sitting on the side lines watching an incompentent, cranky coach, coach my kid's team. I guess I need to start stepping up.
7. I am continually disappointed in the work ethic of today's teens. I hope my kid's are the exception, not the rule.
8. I hate that my husbands job isn't exactly what he wants out of it, but there isn't anything I can do about it, and we are just grateful he has a job with good health benefits.
9. I want more time alone with my husband, but our lives pretty much say that isn't happening.
10. I'm just tired of all the negativity around me being displayed by everyone these days.
The Good:
1. My kids have good grades, good teachers for the most part, and good work ethic.
2. I still love my job, and enjoy that teachers let me "teach" when they are gone.
3. 55 days until our trip to Alaska. I can't wait.
4. We both DO have jobs, and even though they aren't perfect, we have them.
5. We are healthy for the most part.
6. Our finances are stable, which is a blessing these days.
7. Our son is growing every day in his spiritual life. Although he is getting primarily Catholic instruction, we are blessed with Lutheran support to ensure a balanced faith.
8. I have a dog that adores us. I know that sound strange, but I just looked over at her and her eyes say it all.
9. Only 55 days until our Cruise!
10. We have great family and friends who we can lean on and enjoy when we need a laugh or a cry.
Oh, and it's Spring. The trees are blooming, the grass is turning green, and the days are getting warmer. Not if it would only RAIN!
On the road again....
