My Day, the good and bad.

What a day this has been. I started the day going to the dealership we bought the Mountaineer at to finally get the new tires put on. This is the 2nd time we have tried to get this done. Over 2 hours into this, the service writer came over to tell me the fourth and last tire to go on had a factory defect hole in it. Since it is an AWD truck, they can't put the other three on and just get the fourth on in a few days. I'm going to have to reschedule again and come back, AGAIN! I tried to get an alternative set of tires, throw in some oil changes or something, anything to get me new tires. The only tires in our size in stock are really lousy tires, not even half as good as the ones I selected, assuming no factory defects of course. I opted to wait until next week to get these Good Year SilentGuard kevlar lined tires.

On a good note, I had lunch with K today, and then we went to see the movie "Valkyrie" together. Interesting choice of movies most say. S saw this movie on Christmas Day and said it was good, but once is enough. We did want her to see this movie for it's historical depiction of a true story. I have researched and found that they stayed very true to the events in which these German patriots attempted to overthrow Hitler and the SS. It almost worked. I ask K often about similar historical events, she is somewhat knowledgeable, but not as much as I like her to be. "Mom, we don't really study history in school." she tells us. Well, kiddo, I guess you are going to study it at home!

Alot of people ask about our garden railroad. He it is. It is actually quite a bit more mature than what you see here. This was July 4, 2006.
