Goodbye Sebring, Hello F-150!

What a week this has been! As just about everybody who reads my blog, all 3 or 4 of you know, Steve was in a car accident on Monday and the damage totaled out our Sebring Convertible. He was furious! He really liked that car. It was a lot of fun. We had it for 10 months, and enjoyed having the top down on nice days. By Monday afternoon, I was car shopping. This is alot easier than it used to be. I absolutely love AutoTrader.com. I got on and started searching. At first, I was looking for another Sebring. That was tough. They are pretty hard to find in as good a shape as ours was in. After a day or so, Steve told me at 11:00 at night after my eyes were going crosseyed looking at anything and everything, but limited to cars, that he wants a truck. If he has a choice, he wants a Ford F-150, red if possible. Oh, gee, not that my eyes aren't crossed, dry, and nearly bleeding, now I have to find a Ford F-150, red, low mileage, and in our price range. No problem. I went to bed, got up the next morning and starting looking for this proverbial needle in the haystack. On my first search, "PAYDIRT"! There it was! In Wichita! A 2000 Ford F-150, low miles, red, SuperCab, leather, and in our price range!!!! This is too good to be true. I looked around as far as Kansas City to Wichita, to Hays. This was the only one, and quite honestly, the only TRUCK that had the low enough miles, and other options and seemed to be in great shape in our price range. A few came close, but I kept coming back to this one. Karissa and I drove down to Wichita. We liked it, but wanted a few things done, including new tires. The dealership agreed. "We'll pick it up on Saturday". We picked it up today and Steve loves it. "It drives like a dream on the highway!" he said when he got home. In 15 years of marriage, we have never owned a pickup. It's about time. My family has already asked to borrow it!

Alot of people ask about our garden railroad. He it is. It is actually quite a bit more mature than what you see here. This was July 4, 2006.
